Springfield Seeks Nominations for 2025 Veteran of the Year Award |
City Honors Veterans' Community Contributions; Nominations Open Until October 31 |
The City of Springfield is now accepting nominations for its esteemed 2025 Veteran of the Year Award.
This annual honor recognizes a local veteran who has made significant, selfless contributions to the community without seeking recognition.
Residents are encouraged to nominate veterans who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to improving Springfield.
Nomination forms are available on the city's official website under the Department of Veterans' Services section.
Completed applications must be submitted by Friday, October 31, 2025.
The selected honoree will be celebrated at a ceremony on Monday, November 3, 2025, at 2 p.m. at City Hall.
Additionally, the annual Veterans Day Parade is scheduled for November 11, 2025, at 11 a.m., starting from Springfield Technical Community College.

In related news, the Springfield Veterans Activities Committee has initiated a fundraising campaign for a new Global War on Terrorism Veterans Monument.
This monument will honor local veterans who served in Middle East conflicts and will be added to Veterans Way on Court Street.
Donations are also being accepted to support this initiative.
