Downtown Westfield Merchants Invite Trick-or-Treaters for Annual Halloween Festivities |
Local businesses to host costumed children on October 24 from 4 to 5 p.m. |
Downtown Westfield is set to come alive with Halloween spirit as local merchants prepare to welcome trick-or-treaters on Friday, October 24, from 4 to 5 p.m.
This cherished tradition, now in its 32nd year, is a collaborative effort between the mayor's office and the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Westfield. Participating businesses will display "Trick-or-Treaters Welcome Here" signs in their windows, inviting children in costume to stop by for treats.
Among the confirmed participants are the American Legion Post 124, Drop, Pack, Ship, Cassin Insurance, Park Square Realty, Westfield Bank branches on Elm and Arnold Streets, Westfield Gas & Electric, CVS Pharmacy, Baystate Dental, KeyBank, Berkshire Bank, Edward Jones Investments, REMAX, Responsible Driving of Westfield, and Two Rivers Burritos. Newcomers to the event include Dollar Tree and Drop, Pack, Ship.
Jamie Mahon, Marketing Director at the Boys & Girls Club, emphasized the community spirit of the event, stating, "It's a great, joint community event, so we're looking forward to participating again." She also noted that it's not too late for other businesses to join in; the club will provide signs up until the morning of October 24.
Parents are encouraged to accompany their children as they visit the participating businesses along Elm and Main streets, as well as local side streets. This event offers a safe and festive environment for families to enjoy Halloween festivities together.
For more information or to participate, businesses can contact Jamie Mahon at 413-562-2301 or via email at jmahon@bgcwestfield.org. |
